In the late 1800s and early 1990s the upper portion of New York State (now known as the Tug Hill Plateau and Adirondack Park) was an outdoor playground for visitors near and far. Famous visitors like Presidents Ulysses S. Grant in 1885 and Teddy Roosevelt in 1901 visited the great woods of Upstate New York seeking the healing power of crisp fresh air and reprieve from society & their hectic lives.

Like days of old, most modern visitors come to great woods of New York (and specifically Wellnesste Lodge in Taberg, NY) to escape their busy lives and enjoy a retreat surrounded by natural splendor. Be our guest and curl up next to the fire with a comforting glass of cabernet, pipe and book… and forget the everyday stresses of modern society. Wellnesste also makes a great base camp for exploring regional activities.

The estate was originally constructed as a hunting camp in the rustic style of the late 1900s and has been restored to its original charm. Knotty pine, stone fire places, meandering wooded paths and plenty of fresh air await all visitors.

All cabins are fully equipped with silverware, glasses, cups, pots and pans to serve the number of people in each unit.

The beds are covered with fresh fitted sheets and pillowcases before being rented. Renters often bring extra linens, sheets, pillowcases, blankets and personal towels and bathroom supplies.
